The situation that has arisen in regards to the property, and subsequent town planning of the area, has presented a number of issues in regards to the possible renewal, or termination, of the current lease agreement. It has been mentioned that the current agreement for part of the property is due to end in May 2006; however the future of the industrial estate is unclear in the short to mid term. The other property (small units) is currently unoccupied, and the client wishes to earn income from them without committing to a long term lease (i.e. Donââ¬â¢t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Terminating a lease" essay for you Create order no further than 2011). Therefore it can be concluded that the ideal result would be to terminate the lease on the large ex-agricultural property so as to consider immediate redevelopment in line with the B1 zoning on the UDP, while producing short term leases that will generate some income (at least) while the other property is being redeveloped. In regards to the termination of lease agreements, there can only be termination if one of the relevant provisions of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 are satisfied. These are outlined as follows: The tenant issuing a notice to terminate under section 27; The landlord issuing a notice to terminate under section 25; The tenant requesting a new tenancy under section 26; By mutual agreement between landlord and tenant for a new tenancy, which would annul the current arrangement.[1] These statutory provisions become problematic in this scenario, as any notice served by the landlord to terminate the agreement must be served during a period of 6 to 12 months before the specified termination date of the original agreement. Therefore in this case, under the Act, the landlord cannot prevent the tenant from applying for a new tenancy given the lease ends in May 2006, but may challenge it based on one (or more) of the seven grounds in section 30(1). The most relevant to this case would be the ability to challenge any further requests by the tenant for a new agreement, on the basis of the landlordââ¬â¢s intention to undertake substantial construction and works on the site, which could not be performed unless the landlord had occupancy of the site.[2] Under common law, the landlord is required to provide proof of intention to the Court at the time of serving his counter-notice,[3] which can be demonstrated by providing proof of the local planning and zoning regulati ons that show the new zoning of the land. Should this avenue be explored, the landlord would also be entitled to apply to the Court for interim rent pending resolution of the lease, under section 24A of the Law of Property Act 1969. The rent is then paid from the date of the landlordââ¬â¢s counter-notice, as that is the later date of the two notices.[4] Given that the purpose of the termination of the lease is primarily for the landlordââ¬â¢s purposes, the question of compensation arises. Under section 37 of the Act, a landlord who succeeds in terminating the agreement under paragraph (f) of section 30(1) is required to pay compensation to the tenant. Given the original lease was a 15- year agreement, the compensation is due to be twice the value of what it would be for a tenant that might have had occupancy for less than 14 years,[5] which may be a point of reference for future lease dealings. In regards to the small units, it appears that a short term lease would be a goo d option, as long as the agreement provided an escape route for the landlord if the future of the property was not in favour of the tenant come 2011. Under the section 24 of the Landlord and Tenant Act, short-term agreements are not subject to the same termination provisions as longer term leases. This period is a term of 6 months.[6] One suggestion might be to negotiate ââ¬Ëmini-leasesââ¬â¢ with potential tenants, as the Landlord and Tenant Act does not apply to such short agreements. This might allow tenants to use the property for temporary or emergency purposes, and will avoid the landlord from having to pay compensation at the conclusion of the lease. These leases could then, obviously, be renewed every 6 months, and will only be subject to the law of contract, and subsequent contracts could only come into force by mutual agreement. It would be important, however, to ensure that every 6 months the new contract would annul the previous one, so as not to carry over into the jurisdiction of the Landlord and Tenant Act. This would give the landlord adequate flexibility to lease the property as he sees fit then, pending redevelopment, may be able to recommit to longer-term arrangements in the future. In summary, the two plans for the property that have been discussed seem to bode well with the landlordââ¬â¢s intentions. It gives the landlord the ability to terminate the agreement on the first property to immediately redevelop it in line with planning regulations, while also being able to generate short-term income from the other properties. The proposed solution demonstrates sound management of the estate, which is in the best interests of the landlord. While there is compensation to be paid, it is more beneficial for the landlord to have to pay this now rather than during the mid-term of a 15-year lease agreement. It is not recommended that the landlord enter into a new agreement on the ex-agricultural property at this stage, as a new agreement wo uld see the Landlord and Tenant Act apply, and the process would need to be repeated, including compensation. Therefore, immediate redevelopment is recommended, while leasing out the six small units in 6-month contracts. Rather than exclusively focusing on one interpretation of Cinderella, it is best to focus on two different interpretations. As we learned throughout the semester, the idea or goal behind the fairytales and folklores vary tremendously based on timeframe. For instance, the Grimm version ofCinderella would vary from the Walt Disney version of Cinderella. The differing goals of fairytales from past to present are emphasized through the unique interpretations of both the Grimm brothers and Walt Disney. To begin, were going to focus primarily on the Disney version of Cinderella. The focus of quite a few Disney Princess stories is that the that {delete do come true. Also, that good trumps evil and good is always rewarded. For example in Disneys Cinderella, not only does Cinderellas mother died {die}, but soon after so does your {her}father. Immediately Cinderellas stepmother and stepsisters begin to mistreat her. They make her do all the chores, clean their clothes, and rooms, etc. It isnt long before you {? }see Cinderella as a stage one survivor. Even through the pain f losing her father and dealing with the absurd treatment from her step relatives, Cinderella manages to continue working through it and not letting it bring her down. 0 Also in this interpretation, Cinderella{s} stepmother and sisters are good examples of stage{-}two tricksters. They received a letter stating the princes {prince} will have a ball and they trick Cinderella into trusting that she will get to attend the ball, Just to shred her outfit into pieces once she is when {delete she is when}she is ready. This part shows them as tricksters, but it also shows Cinderella in the same stage; as a truster. Even after years of mistreatment, she still believes there is a possibility her stepmother will do something nice for her, by letting her go. Unfortunately, that isnt quite the case. 0 After not being able to go to the ball, Cinderella is introduced to the fairy godmother. In this instance the fairy godmothers a stage{-}five hero, but she also becomes a stage six, wise person, later in the interpretation. She transforms Cinderella with a beautiful down {gown}, a coach, and the notorious glass slippers. Theres Just one small catch,{:} it all vanishes at midnight. In the outfit, given to her by the fairy godmother, Cinderella arrives at the all. Immediately{,} she catches the attention of the prince, with whom she dances the night away. Well of course the stepmother is interested in the mysterious woman who stole the prince away from all the other women, more importantly, her two daughters. The stepmother takes on the role of a stage{-} four shadow;{,} by the way she hovers over the unknown woman giving her a sense of unease. As the clock strikes midnight, Cinderella rushes to exit the bomb {ball? }. In her urgency, she leaves behind her Glass slipper. Furthermore, this is the time in which the Prince makes a decree that whomever the slipper fits, shall be his bride. The stepsisters continue to be stage two tricksters, by trying to convince him that they are the women that here {he} is looking for. Alas, the slipper doesnt fit their grotesquely large feet. This is also the only true point in which the prince can be categorized. Similar to most of the princes he doesnt really move past the stage{-}Three hero. Unfortunately, as far as Walt Disney is concerned, the fairytales are more for teaching young girls now to be sought atter and now g always trumps evil. For instance, as Cinderella is rushing to try on the slipper, her stepmother causes it to bust. Of course because Cinderella is good she has the other slipper, even though I {it}shouldve disappeared with the rest of her outfit at midnight. After they realize shes the woman the prince is looking for, shes whisked away to marry him and in a sense gaining control of her true self, thrusting her to stage seven. Not in any sense you have explained plausibly}0 As evidence supports, the characters inCinderella, with the exception of her, maintain a stage two through stage four persona. Cinderella on the other hand, gradually makes her way through to stage seven. {see above}This hows Just how developed the character Walt Disney wanted as a role model for girls. Furthermore, the lack of depth in the prince indicates further the gender directi on Disney was leaning. Lastly, the train the stepsisters and mother and such a light, really shows that you can overcome bullying and you dont have to stoop to their level. These are good morals for young girls to be aware of. 0 The Grimms Cinderella is a different interpretation with some similar morals and different ones as well. The Grimms Cinderella was released in a collection in 1812. The morals that become apparent in their version are; depend on yourself, be good, nd dont be greedy. Two main differences in this version compared to the Disney version of Cinderella are that Cinderellas dad is alive and there isnt a fairy godmother. Rather than a fairy godmother, the grim brothers use a different magical realistic or Fairytale-esk approach. Throughout the interpretation, you want to categorize her dad as a coward for not sticking up for his daughter and at the same time as the asshole for not getting her out of the situation. Unfortunately, neither of those are recognized by Graves/Jung categories, so Im not entirely sure if he should e a stage one survivor, for even moving onto another wife after his died, or if hes a stage two truster. I say truster, because theres not much mention of the father, so maybe he wasnt there often and Just over trusted his wife to take care of Cinderella. Ultimately with her lack of real parental/familial fgures, Cinderella learns not to be dependent on them,{;} she learns to be a stage one survivor. 0 Cinderella quickly moves to stage five appreciator of life, when her father offers to bring her something. Rather than asking for dresses or Jewels, like her stepsisters, Cinderella asked for a twig, which she plants at her mothers grave. Without the specific good request, (good in this case means non-selflsh) the remainder of the fairytale wouldnt exist. Its this twig that grows into a tree, from her tears, and attracts the white bird that gives Cinderella what she needs. I feel that by not having a fairy godmother, the story is more relatable and children girls {? }at the time could focus on whats to be learned, rather than focusing on a magical fairy. Here Cinderella not only appreciates the life of the tree and bird, but also appreciates what her mom told her, with her last bit of life. Similarly a beautiful down {gown}is magically in existence for her, but rather han one night until midnight, she gets three days until the prince himself tries to catch her. Also, rather than the clothes disappearing at midnight, she returns them to the bird and the next night the bird gives her a gown more beautiful than the night before. Its because of her lack of greediness, but shes rewarded in such a way. Here it shows Cinderella as a stage six;{:} wise person. If she was foolish enough to not return the dress or parade around in the dress in front of her stepsisters, she would not nave been able to maintain ner charade tor three days. Furthermore, in Disneys Cinderella, she wears the infamous glass slippers, but here theyre made of three different materials, one of which is pure gold. This goes to further serve as evidence of good being rewarded. 0 Just like {as}in Disneys version, the prince doesnt go past the hero, by saving Cinderella from her family. He does however, start as a stage{-}two trickster. When Cinderella tries to leave all three nights, the prince tries to trick her into finding out who she is. For instance he follows her one night without permission and then another night, covers the floor with pitch, which are her}golden slipper gets stuck on. Likewise, he vows to marry the girl who fits the slipper. As it is obvious that the shoe wont fit either stepsister, they both try to trick the prince; one by cutting off her big toe, and the other by cutting off part of her heel. As disturbing as it is, it is this that characterizes them as the stage two tricksters and stage three competitors. Although they arent aware as to whom they are competing with, the extent as which they are willing to go, strongly pushes them to stage four. What pushes the sister to stage four, is emphasizes the stage two truster within the prince. He Just assumes theyre telling the truth, without even checking to make sure. If he had have checked, not only would he have seen that she didnt fit, but it wouldVe saved him two extra trips. Its is trusting nature, that somewhat bites him in the butt. With that said, the bird play{s} the role of the stage{-}three hero in this interpretation;{delete ;} by providing for Cinderella and helping the prince realize he had the wrong bride. 0 As proven, through the Grave/ Jung stages of characterization, Walt Disneys interpretation of Cinderella has an obvious moral goal of doing good and dreams coming true. It wasnt until Cinderella got her Prince, that she found her true self. On the other hand, the Grimm versions moral goals are;{:} dont be greedy and always be true to yourself. Throughout the events in the Grimm interpretation of Cinderella, Cinderella maintains dignity in herself and doesnt get greedy. The sisters on the other hand, are greedy and they try to change themselves for {what} they want. For doing so, theyre ultimately punished. As seen, the differing goals of fairytales from past to present are emphasized through the unique interpretations of both the Grimm brothers and Walt Disney. joannmoore122http://www.blogger.com/profile/16671254813732142213noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5513602666641361569.post-61971219563616882332020-04-14T22:55:00.001-07:002020-04-14T22:55:02.431-07:00Pre-Bid Joint Venture Agreement Essay ExamplePre-Bid Joint Venture Agreement Essay PRE-BIDDING JOINT VENTURE AGREEMENTbetweenCompany AandCompany Bin respect ofCONSTRUCTION PROJECTTHE PRE-BIDDING JOINT VENTURE AGREEMENTThis Pre Bidding Joint Venture Agreement (ââ¬Å"The Agreementâ⬠) entered into as of this _________ day of ________________, 20___ (being the actual date on which the Agreement will be signed) by and between: (A) Company A with their office at ___________ (hereinafter called ââ¬Å"Party Aâ⬠) of the one part(B) Company B with their office at _________________ (together with its successors and assignees hereinafter called ââ¬Å"Party Bâ⬠), of the other part Both parties shall be jointly referred to as the ââ¬Å"Partiesâ⬠.WITNESSETH:Whereas the parties hereto desire to submit a joint bid to _____________(hereinafter referred to as the Owner), for the construction of ________________(herein called the Work).WHEREAS, the parties each hereby certify and represent to each other their ability to provide their respective share of bonding capacity, finances, personnel, equipment and supervision to complete the work in the event they are the successful bidder and to sustain and pay for any losses that may be incurred;NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby agreed between the parties hereto as follows:1. Among all of these people, one woman stands out like black print on white paper. This woman was not afraid to speak her mind and let her thoughts be known to everyone. Justify your answer with reference to your own research and the item above. (40 marks) Technology is the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, especially in industry. It can be argued that skills and other factors are considerably more important than technological change, for the future success of UK manufacturing businesses. Yet I disagree, I view technological change to be the most significant. In this essay, I am going to talk about several companies in which technology is vital. Firstly, within the Food sectors, technology is absolutely essential. This is due to the need to adapt, not only to changes in demand, but from a business perspective too. As in the food sector, technology allows for food manufacturers to lower costs, by having machinery doing menial tasks such as filling cans or producing such items such as Walkers Crisps. Walkers factory in Leicester is amongst the largest crisp production plants in the world, producing over 11 million bags of crisps per day and using 800 tons of potatoes. This process mostly uses machinery to cook, flavour and package the crisps, as humans would not be able to withstand the amount of work needed to fulfil the demand. Technology has allowed Walkers to move from hand-sliced and fried potatoes in the 1880s, to mass machinery production. This shows that technology has allowed them to produce new products, and with this change has provided investment allowing the business to further grow into a market leader. It is not only within the production of food stuffs that technology has changed businesses, but in selling the goods too, as Tesco and Asda, have also implemented technology into their processes. The large supermarkets use technology to implement processes such as lean production, which encompasses the ââ¬Å"Just In Timeâ⬠technique. Tescos have been able to use this so that storage isnt used up with unnecessary goods, as when an item is scanned at the checkout, it then logs into the computer, and when that item is low on stock, then an order is sent directly to the warehouse or supplier. This technique means that there is no wastage of stock, and reduces time wastage too as the manager doesnt need to assess the remaining stock throughout the day. Also, as robots are becoming cheaperà and slowly more advanced, it has seen the sales of them go up by 28% in 2013 in the food sector, once again showing how technology plays a large part in UK manufacturing. However, in contrast, technology isnt vital for Crockett Jones of Northampton. This shoe company was founded in 1879. It began with 20 employees hand cutting and tanning leather. As technology developed, the company did begin to use it, yet only on the smallest of tasks, in order to not lose the significance of the hand quality goods which they gained their reputation for. Despite not using a lot of technology, they still have implemented some, which shows again how important technological change is to UK manufacturing. Yet in the automotive sector, technology is viewed to be vital, as it allows from quality and precision to be improved greatly. This is shown in the case of Jaguar Land Rover, where they produce premium cars that provide excellent quality, whilst being assembled quickly. This has been successful due to the implementation of robotics and automation, whilst also reducing the costs of production too. The costs are reduced, because the business is seen to be more efficient due to the greater amounts of precision and lack of human error, which in turn reduces wastage. Another point as to why technology is significant in the automotive sector is that these advancements allow for each customer to have the exact car they want in the exact specification. For example, robotics for painting to be quicker, allowing for change to happen in the shortest possible time, again reducing time wastage. With this reducing costs, it means that these increased levels in profits can lead to future product development, such as giving more investment to RD to become more innovative, thus gaining a competitive advantage. The RD may lead to investments into such technologies as Green Technology, which encompasses a continuously evolving group o methods and materials, from techniques for generating energy to non-toxic cleaning products, thus allowing products to be more sustainable. By doing this it allows for companies to meet the needs of society, which can continue into the future without damaging or depleting natural resources. Already, green technology is playing a massive part in Uk manufacturing, with the à £60bn a year industry managing to save nearlyà 180,000 tonnes of CO2 in 2012. Toyota are leading the way for Green Technology in the UK, with their production plant situated in Wales. They produce the Prius, which, has near to zero emissions, which offers incentives from the government, such as lower road tax. Green Technologies have broadened the visionary design of the car of tomorrow, which if the UK wish to be market leaders, with a large customer base then they should further implement this technology available to them. The BMW i3 is a key example of this, as it is emissions free, and acts as a USP, heightening BMWââ¬â¢s success and allowing them to be market leaders. In contrast, companies such as Rolls Royce, pride themselves on quality, bespoke, hand-made vehicles. Despite being the only car manufacturer in the FTSE100, they invest 7.53% of their revenue in RD, yet they do not pride themselves on technology being needed as a USP. As it is said that each car produce by them is individual, as it is hand made, by well-trained craftsmen. Their premium price shows the prestige that they portray, and the amount of skill put into the cars. So this shows that Rolls Royce customers value quality above technology when they buy this car, which has lead to the business becoming so successful. On the other hand, in some sectors of UK manufacturing embracing technological change is not the most significant factor in the future success of UK manufacturing, as skills are required to incorporate the technology into the business. Skills may also be considered to be more important as they allow for quality and premium prices to be associated with some products. For example, I M Kelly, has become the centre of excellence for automotive interior leather trim within the United Kingdom, whilst also diversifying into Rail and Passenger Aircraft industries. The company was established in 1975 and its head office and main production facility is situated in Northamptonshire, a figure point for high quality leather. The company also has a second production facility on the outskirts of Coventry, which thus allows it to be closer to the centre of the UK allowing for easier transport and delivery to such automotive manufactures as Jaguar Land Rover, Bentley, Aston Martin and Lotus. These prestigious, premium brands illustrate the quality that I M Kelly produce, due to the high level ofà skills from their employees. These skills are used in tandem with the up-to-date technology, allowing them to produce outstanding quality, and exceed their customerââ¬â¢s expectations. Due to the type of leather work carried out here, means that robots or machines cant sew small intricate stitches into the gear sticks, or along the steering wheel, again showing where skills are beneficial. The UK government have also seen to play an active role in promoting how important skills are, with David Cameron giving ââ¬Å"fast-trackââ¬â¢ visas to technology experts from outside of the UK. Whilst other businesses have called for increased investment into the education of scientists and engineers in schools, such as the Jaguar Land Rover apprenticeship scheme. Yet there are many sectors that do not require skills to be too important, meaning that skills are not vital for every co mpany. In conclusion, in the short term, it is arguable that skills are of utmost importance in progressing the future development of UK manufacturing, as it allows for the technology to be created and implemented. Shown by David Cameron being keen to fast track technology experts. Yet that statement also shows that the experts are needed for the technology only, so in the long term technology will be more significant. As the world is continually using up more of the natural resources, and their being a greater need for the reduction of wastage and emissions, it is clear that technology is the only way to achieve this. As it was due to old technologies that this ââ¬Å"messâ⬠occurred in the first place. Therefore by using technology to become innovative, to reduce costs and attract more demand, it will lead to UK manufacturing businesses to be more successful. Which will allow for manufacturing sectors to become world market leaders. joannmoore122http://www.blogger.com/profile/16671254813732142213noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5513602666641361569.post-5133686970178666122020-01-21T18:28:00.001-08:002020-01-21T18:28:03.017-08:00An Analysis of Brooks First Fight. Then Fiddle Essay -- First Fight.ThAn Analysis of Brooks' First Fight. Then Fiddleà à Gwendolyn Brooks' "First fight. Then Fiddle." initially seems to argue for the necessity of brutal war in order to create a space for the pursuit of beautiful art. The poem is more complex, however, because it also implies both that war cannot protect art and that art should not justify war. Yet if Brooks seems, paradoxically, to argue against art within a work of art, she does so in order create an artwork that by its very recognition of art's costs would justify itself. Brooks initially seems to argue for the necessity of war in order to create a safe space for artistic creation. She suggests this idea quite forcefully in the paired short sentences that open the poem: "First fight. Then fiddle." One must fight before fiddling for two reasons. First, playing the violin would be a foolish distraction if an enemy were threatening one's safety; it would be, as the phrase goes, "fiddling while Rome burns." Second, fighting the war first would prepare a safe and prosperous place where one could reasonably pursue the pleasures of music. One has to "civilize a space / Wherein to play your violin with grace." It should be noted further that while Brooks writes about securing a "civilized" place to play the violin, she seems clearly to be using this playing as an image for art in general, as her more expansive references to "beauty" or "harmony" suggest. Nonetheless, much that Brooks writes about the necessity to fight before fiddling indicates the she does not support this idea, at least not fully. For example, Brooks describes making beautiful music as being "remote / A while" from "malice and murdering." In addition to the negative way Brooks describes war in this line, ... ...ultural prestige of violin playing. Indeed, as an emblem of Western civility (one thinks of Renaissance sonnets), the sonnet might be involved in the very justification of the destruction of other less "civilized" peoples that the poem condemns. One might wonder why Brooks produces poetry, especially the sonnet, if she also condemns it. I would suggest that by critically reckoning the costs of sonnet-making Brooks brings to her poetry a self-awareness that might justify it after all. She creates a poetry that, like the violin playing she invokes, sounds with "hurting love." This "hurting love" reminds us of those who may have been hurt in the name of the love for poetry. But in giving recognition to that hurt, it also fulfills a promise of poetry: to be more than a superficial social "grace," to teach us something we first did not, or did not wish to, see. à joannmoore122http://www.blogger.com/profile/16671254813732142213noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5513602666641361569.post-88569225429239604342020-01-13T14:52:00.001-08:002020-01-13T14:52:04.427-08:00ââ¬ËQWERTYââ¬â¢ Keyboard1. Heavily used oil can require significantly more and must be tested to evaluate its acidity. Titration is a common method used to determine the appropriate amount of lye (base) needed for a particular batch of WVO. How to Perform a Titration Test Equipment Needed an electronic scale or beam balance2 beakers or jarsa graduated dropperlitmus test strips or electronic pH meterlyeisopropyl alcoholdistilled water Steps to Complete a Titration Test Measure 1 gram of lye on a scale.Measure 1 liter of distilled water into a beaker.Thoroughly mix the gram of lye with the liter of water until itââ¬â¢s dissolved.Measure 10 milliliters of isopropyl alcohol into a separate beaker.Thoroughly mix 1 milliliter of used vegetable oil into the alcohol. With a graduated eyedropper, put a 1-milliliter drop of the lye/water mix into the oil/alcohol mix.Immediately check the pH level of the oil/alcohol mix with a piece of litmus paper or an electronic pH meter.Repeat step 7, keeping track of the number of drops used, until the oil/alcohol mix has reached a pH level of between 8 and 9--normally no more than 4 drops.Calculate the amount of lye needed for the biodiesel reaction by adding 3.5 (amount of lye used for virgin oil) to the number of drops from step 7. For example: suppose a titration uses 3 drops of lye/water. Adding 3.0 plus 3.5 6.5. This hypothetical batch of oil requires 6.5 grams of lye per liter of oil. joannmoore122http://www.blogger.com/profile/16671254813732142213noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5513602666641361569.post-51947142002870467052019-12-28T07:41:00.001-08:002019-12-28T07:41:04.458-08:00Technology And Its Effect On Society - 871 Words What is technology? Puritans were English Protestants that came to America in 1630. They sought to reform the Church of England. When they first came to America they settled at Salem, Massachusetts. The main reason the Puritanââ¬â¢s came to Salem was for freedom of religion which they did not have in England. The Puritans also came because they believed that the Church of England was not religious or enforcing religion enough. Puritans were just like the Pilgrims. The need for maximizing the capital expenditures is not an easy task for any hospital but it should be considered as an important factor to acquire a large market share effectively (Bloom et al., 2015). 3. The two value-added services that Caring Angel Hospital could offer to strengthen its value proposition are: Dietary sources: The hospital should improve its dietary services. The patients who are vegetarians should always be given vegetarian food and the patients who are non-vegetarians should be provided with non-vegetarian food depending on the health status of the patients. The hospital should also construct a restaurant or cafeteria, where all types of food should be provided to the relatives of the patients, working with staff, doctors, etc. A perfect care regarding the quality o f food and dietary services should be of utmost concern because it is considered as an important factor in the recovery of the services along with the medicines and treatments (Dabholkar, 2015). Commercial Services: The hospital needs to focus on its commercial services such as Parking facilities, ATM, and banking services, Flower and fruit shops, Book and magazine shops, Cyber cafes, Communication facilities, postal services and, of course, a 24x7 pharmacy. The things account for the overall progress and the reputation of the hospital. These days people are so busy in their lives that they dont find time in carrying or buying these things while visiting the patients (Ahmad, 2013). The hospital needs to make sure that the healthcare is designed in the minds of the patient. The hospital also needs to involve the patients and the communities who are involved with the care. A hospital is always accountable for the all the concerns of a patient, whether it is a health related issue or financial issues. The hospital should become a center of attraction regarding the services it provides to the patients. These factors will provide a good experience in the hospitals while staying in the hospital and retaining the existing clients, hence elevating the growth of the hospital (Green, 2013). The people who are concerned with the management in the Healthcare are concerned with all the policies, accounting, and facilities. A health care manager needs to get experience and become specialized regarding the policies, accounting and facilities of the health care. He is also concerned with the overall operation of the facility and reports the daily activities to the higher authorities. The health care management system is utilized by the hospitals, doctors, and health maintenance organization involves a unit for processing and some guidelines for the health condition of the patients. The health care improvement is a phenomenon of global concern. Several countries are experiencing the same problems with the system of the health care. Many of them see management as a central entity, and the principal means to secure a reputed position in the hospital market. It aims to exercise and improve the overall healthcare in the hospitals. It emphasizes more on the practice of the professi onals of the health care by utilizing the resources (Kim, 2012). Therefore, the senior consultant at the Caring Angel Hospital should take into consideration all of the problems which the hospital is facing right now. He should expand the hospital market by involving these strategies in an efficient way because it is the need of the hour. References: Ahmad, S. (2013). Fieldwork is basically used to gather and collect information about a certain community, and this usually involves going out there and participating in the community in some form or manner. Fieldwork is basically made up of observations, participation, and interviewing. Observations are made through the popular participant-observation system. This is where the researcher takes a place in the daily activities carried by with he community members. This allows researchers to directly experience the explicit culture, which is the culture we can directly see and identify with our eyes. Most importantly, participating in the community allows researchers to see the implicit culture, which is not directly shown and can be observed through the interactions between community members. Being immersed in a community will allow for far greater knowledge acquisition than if you were reading about the community online on a website or article. Note-taking also needs to happen, because it is hard to recall the facts and observations if you dont record them. The communicative processes used in ethnography is an important, essential topic because this allows the researchers to take information from people in various forms. An important communicative process is interviewing, and there are various types of interviewing. Unstructured or informal interviewing dont really have a goal in answering a particular question, but rather is used to get more divers data in general. There is also structured interviews, where the information being captured can be quantified. There is something else to keep in mind though, which is the more formal an interview is, the more limited the participants input will be as well. Also, besides interviewing, speaking to community members should involve many open-ended questions. Active listening and active observing are both practices that involve the researcher constantly seeking for clarification and sing follow-up questions.A very important part of ethnographic methods is the actual reflection of the observations and knowledge acquired. This allows for the research to actually learn from their experiences. This is where the researcher can add their own insights and evaluate the entire experience as a whole. Reflection can normally be done in activities such as journal writing. Self reflection is where you think about your own situation in terms of the community. You can evaluate certain events that happened, and an example of this would be legalizing a mistake that you could have done. This is part of the process Of constant learning which is to take the mistakes you have done, reflect on them, and try to not allow for the mistake to happen again. This kind of activity produces praxis, which is the relationship between reflective action and critical theorizing. It is important to theorize your activities done within the community because this can help with identifying problems and problem solving. Identifying problems is important in order to help the community or nipping where an exact issue is stemming from in the community.Problem solving is to aid the issue identified. In conclusion, many of these aspects form a general overview of what ethnography is. These are all important components which complement each other, but are also needed by one another. An example of this is that it would be hard to reflect and theorize if you never engaged in community participation. This would drastically change or minimize your reflections if you chose not to participate, which shows why it is important to understand and carry out each aspect of ethnography. joannmoore122http://www.blogger.com/profile/16671254813732142213noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5513602666641361569.post-12193911520457944232019-11-28T02:32:00.001-08:002019-11-28T02:32:03.427-08:00Truth or Fiction The J.F.K. Assassination Essay Example For Students Truth or Fiction: The J.F.K. Assassination Essay Truth or Fiction: The J.F.K. AssassinationIn a world with so many problems crime, drugs, murder, povertyAmericans should be able to trust in the government for help. However, it is notsafe to do so. Thus is the outcome of the Kennedy assassination. While thegovernment was so busy trying to convince the public that Lee Harvey Oswaldbrutally murdered John F. Kennedy, they missed one important thing. The truth. The facts. Insufficient medical and hospital procedures, suspicious incidentsduring the Dallas motorcade, the impossible Magic Bullet theory, and countlessother happenings these are not just things the American public dreamed up intheir heads. They had to begin finding the real truth on their own, for thegovernment had betrayed the American people. Some of the most significant facts that hint the assassination was aconspiracy by the government come from the hospitals where Kennedy was examinedimmediately after the assassination. Dr. Charles Crenshaw, MD, who was in theemergency room at Parkland Hospital before and during the Presidents death, claims that the wound in Kennedys neck was much to small to be an exit wound, and was clearly an entry wound. However, pictures taken at Bethsada Hospitalreveal a much larger neck wound than had been seen at Parkland. Apparentlysomeone had mangled the wound to make it appear as an exit wound. But who, andwhy? Was it to support the Lone Gunman theory? If it was, it failed to do so. We will write a custom essay on Truth or Fiction: The J.F.K. Assassination specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Another startling piece of information was concerning Kennedys brain. When thePresident was ordered out of Parkland without an autopsy, he still had a brain. However, when it the body arrived in Bethsada, the brain had suddenlydisappeared! As if that was not mysterious enough, Dr. Crenshaw, the last personto see Kennedys body before it was flown to Bethsada, said the body was put in acoffin, but when it arrived at Destination B, it was in a body bag, and adifferent coffin. This piece of evidence certainly proves that someone who hadbeen on the plane to Bethsada had fooled with Kennedys body. Also, an autopsywould have been performed on Kennedys body by Texas law, but Secret Serviceagents with guns ordered the body to leave without an autopsy. Somebody wastrying to get the body out of the hands of the public. And fast. Several events that occurred during and soon after the Dallas motorcadehave stirred suspicion among Americans for years. For example, during the paradeone bystander had an elliptical seizure, and was rushed off in an ambulance. Later, it was realized that there was no record of the man coming into thehospital. It was also said that twelve people were arrested immediately aftershots were fired, but again, there was no record that any arrests had been made. I believe that these incidents were used as distractions to the public. Why elsewould there be no records? A woman by the name of Jean Hill said she witnessed agunman fire from behind a picket fence on the grassy knoll. While quickly tryingto pursue the gunman, two men with Secret Service identification stopped her. They then took her to other agents in a building overlooking the assassinationsite. Later, she was severely intimidated by a Warren Commission attorney, andwas kept under surveillance by the FBI for years after. These men were tryingtheir hardest to prevent Hill from informing the public of what she hadwitnessed. Two hours after the assassination, Lee Harvey Oswald refused to tellthe Dallas police his real identity. With him, he carried an ID that said he wasAlek James Hidell, so the Dallas authorities were still unsure of the name oftheir recently captured suspect. The advent of AIDS has created a new population of people who suffer multiple bereavements as well as threats to their own lives. (Murray-Parkes, 1998, p. xii) The populations most affected by HIV/AIDS live in two geographical locations: the USA and Africa (WHO, 1998) . In 1997 four million people in the Sub-Saharan Africa were newly reported as having seropositive status (WHO, 1998). In North America this figure was 44 thousand (WHO, 1998). Seropositive rates among Gay men in New York City are reported at 36 to 67% (Dean L, 1995). Infection rates amongst young, urban males in Uganda range from 20 to 30% (Seeley With these high figures and similar infection rates among males in mind, this essay will discuss the relationship between social factors and the psychological impact of multiple loss in an international context. The evidence I have considered principally comes from Uganda and the USA which will allow me to evaluate the commonality of experience and the usefulness of theories on multiple loss in differing cultural and economic situations. Giddens (1993) therefore provides a definition of discrimination as the activity or action that grabs away the opportunities from a specific group, making them out of their reach. It is in this essay therefore that I will lay my focus on old age and mental illness or disability as core areas of discrimination and oppression in the society. I also will look at the similarities and differences between these core areas of discrimination I will study disability as an area of oppression in society. During my first part I will search the meaning of discrimination and oppression within our society. The significance of anti-discriminatory practice will be debated and tracked by an introduction and description of the PCS model of analyses. Thompson (1993) is used to highlight discrimination and oppression on three diffe rent levels. Oppression is a state in which a culture, group, society, state or individual have military, economic and political power that they use in such a wrong way which ends up disadvantaging the powerless in the society. Individuals carrying out the oppression are in control of those under them and therefore better placed when it comes to discriminating against other people. This heinous act comes by just as another group that feels more special gets the mere perception that the other group exists (Cohen, 1988). It is the various groups existing in the society that makes it easier for these forms of discrimination to take place; with the knowledge of the weaker group, therefore forming attitudes against one another. Mental health problem is a term that encompasses a great deal of problems that have an effect on the way an individual carries out with their day to day living.
